THE DAY MY hubby checked out ME “AT WORK”

The reason I’m able to be a stay-at-home-mom is a double-edged sword. My husband, Mike, has a fantastic job, however it’s quite demanding. twice a year I generally ended up being a single parent for about 4-6 weeks, while he works 12-14 hour days, 7 days a week. about five weeks into this past season of single parenting, my hubby shocked us by coming house early on a random Friday. At 11 a.m. he texted me as well as asked if I wished to go out for lunch – of program the response was, “YES.” complied with swiftly with a “HOW?”

Next thing I knew, he was walking in the back door with a fistful of flowers as well as I almost passed out on the couch from an overload of shock as well as happiness. He revealed he was taking me as well as our kid Eli to Sea Salt, an outside restaurant ideal in the middle of a park, as well as going on a walk around the close-by waterfalls as soon as Eli woke up from his morning nap.

I was so ecstatic I instantly started packing up our infant gear as well as as soon as Eli was awake, we were out the door.

On such a gorgeous day, we were not the only ones with this concept so the lines were long as well as service was sluggish at the restaurant. To keep Eli at bay we fed him about half his weight in Cheerios as well as water. I had only wanted I had brought sufficient Cheerios for me to do the same. however as the adult, you have to be the individual one, right? often being an adult is incredibly annoying.

After lunch, we walked with the park to see the waterfalls as well as chase our own shadows.

One of Eli’s favorite things to do while checking out our backyard is pick the yellow dandelions as well as 1) eat them or 2) Hand them to me. (Which makes me feel quite great that I never even had to show my kid that providing flowers to mommy is a great thing to do!)

Before we understood it the best afternoon was over as well as Eli was cashed out in his crib in the nursery while Mike cashed out on the couch before he needed to go back into work for one more shift. I went outside so I wouldn’t disturb my boys, making a mental note to pack a lot more Cheerios in the diaper bag for terrific surprise lunch trips like today.
